Wildlife Photos – Stanford Wildlife Preserve

Common Ringlet

In the short amount of time that I was there, I got some decent shots of a variety of butterflies and birds, including one butterfly I don’t see very often – a common ringlet.

Another notable sighting included a question mark butterfly.  I usually find them with their wings wide open, so I was happy to get some photos from underneath.  From there, you can clearly see the identifier that gives them their name – a question mark!  Well, an inverted one at least.  I provided a close-up of the marking in the gallery.
