06/17/10 – Peach Hill Park Hike

Peach Hill Park is a great place to go walking and bird watching.  In my opinion, it has the best views in Poughkeepsie.  It can be found off of the Salt Point Turnpike.  I am hoping to create a location section soon for all the great places go to in Dutchess County.

I went to there after work today from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm.  The early evening started off pretty cloudy and was really quiet.  As the evening continued, the sun came out and that’s when things really came alive.  I was scared half to death by a turkey that popped out of the tall grass on the blue trail!  There were also a bunch of rabbits, some very young, and a few deer as well.  I have included my bird sightings after the break.  Pictures to follow in a few days.
