Photos from 07/31/10 – FDR & Vanderbilt Gardens

I just finished putting together my gallery from Saturday, concluding my weekend of butterfly and insect photographs.  The Giant Swallowtail was easily the highlight sighting, but I got many nice looks at other butterflies, such as a tiny Eastern-Tailed Blue, and the Pearl Crescent in the photograph.  I really enjoyed this because I got to get up and close, and many of the times, the butterflies would return shortly after.

In order by column (left to right):

  1. Bella Moth
  2. Clouded Sulphur
  3. Eastern-Tailed Blue
  4. Eastern Tiger Swallowtail
  5. Giant Swallowtail
  6. Giant Swallowtail
  7. Green Frog
  8. Monarch
  9. Pearl Crescent
  10. Spicebush Swallowtail
  11. Spicebush Swallowtail
