White-breasted Nuthatch

We are nearing the end of last weekend’s hiking extravaganza.  It seems like it was never ending, which isn’t a bad thing as all!  If all my weekends were this eventful going forward, I would be a very happy person. 😛

Late Sunday afternoon, we got to the Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site for a quick walk down to Bard Rock.  We didn’t have much time to spend there since we were going to Peach Hill Park later in the day.

Once again, my fiancee took the landscape photos while I looked for wildlife.  I didn’t see much, but I did manage to get this close-up of a white-breasted nuthatch and a few shots of a pair of common mergansers on the river.
