New Bird Photographed – Broad-Winged Hawk

Broad-Winged Hawk

The shot isn’t going to win any awards, but this is a broad-winged hawk, the 110th bird I’ve photographed in Dutchess County!

Unbelievably, this was one of fourteen broad-winged hawks I saw today.  They were soaring all together, and I almost mistook them as vultures.  From what I understand, they sometimes they migrate together.  Talk about being at the right place at the right time!
