New Butterfly Photographed – Least Skipper

Least Skipper

While watching the herons and kingfisher at the front pond in Vassar Farm, I had this tiny little butterfly, probably less than an inch in size, land on a nearby leaf.  Once it opened its wings, I realized it was yet another new species I hadn’t photographed yet.

While trying to match my photo with other local species, I found out that this little one is a least skipper, the seventh new species photographed in less than a month!
