It may have been a lousy day, but we didn’t let that stop us from enjoying the weekend, so we headed to Hunter Mountain for Oktoberfest in the Catskills.
When we got there, it was about 50 degrees & rainy with the clouds covering the mountain top. The skyride was open, so we took it to the top to see just how dismal it was up there. The cloud cover got so thick at one point, we could barely see the seat in front of us! It made for a wonderfully unique photographic walk that I’ve never experienced before.
While up there, we visited the Rip Van Winkle statue (pictured). The statue was started in 1995 and carved during special events at the mountain so people could watch. In 2009, it was completed.
Photos coming soon!
