Wildlife Photos from 03/17/12 – Peach Hill Park

Field Sparrow

You would think that spending most of your morning walking around in the fog wouldn’t result in many good photos.  Well, that’s only partially true.

For a good part of my time at Peach Hill, I had to rely on listening to the birds sing to clearly identify them.  Just when I thought things couldn’t get much worse, a poor little bird almost flew right into me with the limited visibility!  He landed on a nearby branch, and I was able to get this beautiful picture of a field sparrow, a first of season sighting!  After a few moments, he was back to singing.

I also wanted to mention that there are plenty of eastern bluebirds flying about.  Before getting out of the parking lot, I had already spotted four of them!  I saw a total of eight during my visit.  Read on to see the entire gallery!
