Wildlife Photos from 03/17/12 – Cary Institute

Northern Water Snake

After spending the morning at Peach Hill Park, my wife and I turned our attention to Cary Institute in Millbrook.

While the hiking trails are closed until April 1st, the internal roads were open.  The roads are usually closed too, but our non-existent winter has kept them open.  Good thing too, as I saw plenty of first of season sightings in birds, snakes and frogs.

Fern Glen was the spot to be, which is where most of my photos came from.  The finale of the day was a black squirrel as we were leaving.  Hope you enjoy the photos!
