While photographing palm warblers at Peach Hill Park, I could hear rustling in the woods, but dismissed it thinking it was a squirrel or turkey. Bad decision.
Without warning, my wife says ‘Look… a fox, a fox!’ I turned around just in time to see a red fox bolting across the trail. I had no time to look if my camera settings were right, I just pointed and snapped two shots. This was the better.
The lesson learned? NEVER dismiss rustling in the woods! The moment I’ve waited for three years had slipped through my fingers, and I almost had nothing to show for it.
