The Vassar Farm ecological fields have been a prime spot for looking for butterflies and moths in the summertime over the years. Last weeks hike (7/6) got me quite a few species, and this week got me a few different ones.
The highlight sighting was a common checkered skipper, a type of butterfly I haven’t seen since 2009! It was hopping from clover to clover at the community gardens. The other species that I spotted can be found in the photo gallery.
