If this looks familiar, it’s because last month I got a photo of a northern harrier at the Shawangunk Grasslands. However, yesterday’s hike at Peach Hill Park got my first photo in Dutchess County!
It was actually quite a surprise to see one at Peach Hill after hiking this area for years. It caught me off guard when it made it’s first appearance, but once I knew it was around, I was a little more prepared.
Thankfully, when I made my way up to the summit, he made a second appearance, and despite cloudy skies, I was able to get a clear enough photo to properly ID it.
This now puts me at 141 species of birds that I’ve photographed in Dutchess County, New York!
