Hammonasset Beach State Park (Part I)

Snowy Egret

Snowy Egret

While things have slowed down a little bit at Local Exploration, I still have a lot of photos to share.  Earlier this year, my wife and I decided to take a drive to Connecticut to check out a new place.  That place was Hammonasset Beach State Park.

It was a rainy day in New York, but the weather looked a little more favorable east of us, so we took a chance.  It was pretty cloudy when we got there, so our first time visit would prove to be tough to get good pictures.

I was blown away by the amount of wildlife that we spotted.  I added five new birds to my life list – a glossy ibis, a little blue heron, a willet, a dunlin, and a snowy egret!
