Barred Owl
Last year was the first, and currently only time that I have seen and photographed a wild owl. Believe it or not, I almost didn’t go out that day because it was crazy windy out that day!
I decided to check out the trail behind the field station that day. While walking, the owl was actually on the ground and flew up to about eye level! With the branches blowing around, I took the first photo and this was the result. He flew off to a higher, further spot right after.
